Privacy Policy

Your videos are processed on your device. This policy explains the limited information used to operate and improve Accordion Compressor.

Effective: October 14, 2026

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to Accordion: Gallery Compressor (the “App”). It describes information processed when you install or use the App.

2. Videos and Photos library access

The App requests access to your Photos library so it can find videos that may benefit from compression, show video details, read videos you choose to compress, save compressed copies, and—only after a separate confirmation from you—delete selected originals or copies. The App does not offer photo compression. If you grant full access, the App can scan the Photos library that iOS makes available to it. If you grant limited access, it can access only the items you allow.

Compression is performed locally using Apple frameworks. Your videos, filenames, file paths, location metadata, and Photos library identifiers are not sent to our analytics or diagnostic providers. Temporary compression files stay on the device and are removed by the App or iOS.

3. iCloud synchronization

When you are signed in to iCloud and iCloud key-value storage is available, the App uses your private iCloud account to synchronize selected app settings, free-tier quota state, aggregate compression and storage-savings counters, and a compression relationship ledger used to recognize originals and compressed copies across reinstalls or devices. That ledger can contain Photo Library asset identifiers and compression timestamps. The App does not place photo or video content in this key-value store. Apple processes this synchronized information as part of iCloud.

4. Analytics and diagnostics

We use limited technical information to understand App usage, diagnose failures, and improve reliability. This may include:

  • App version, build, screens viewed, feature interactions, compression settings, media type, file-size measurements, processing duration, and outcome;
  • device model, operating-system version, locale, time zone, screen characteristics, and approximate technical environment;
  • random or device-associated identifiers, including an installation identifier, identifier for vendor, and analytics service identifiers;
  • crash reports, error categories and codes, and performance information.

Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and Performance Monitoring provide aggregate usage, reliability, and speed information. Firebase Performance Monitoring measures how fast the App runs: how long it takes to start, to compress a video, and to complete network requests, along with processor and memory use. We do not intentionally send media content or direct contact information through analytics.

5. Purchases

Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. RevenueCat helps validate purchases and manage premium access. We may receive product, transaction, subscription status, pricing, currency, and entitlement information, but we do not receive your complete payment-card details.

6. Service providers

We use Apple for iCloud, App Store distribution, and payments; Google Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and Performance Monitoring for usage analytics, diagnostics, and performance measurement; and RevenueCat for purchase and entitlement management. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments.

7. Purposes and legal bases

We process information to provide App functionality, synchronize supported app state, maintain security and reliability, diagnose problems, understand feature performance, prevent abuse, manage purchases, and comply with legal obligations. Where applicable, processing relies on performance of our agreement with you, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the App, consent where required, and compliance with law.

8. Retention and security

Local media and temporary files remain under your device’s controls. Synchronized app state remains in your private iCloud account subject to Apple’s iCloud controls. Service providers retain analytics, diagnostic, and purchase records according to their configured retention periods and legal obligations. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no system can guarantee absolute security.

9. Your choices and rights

You can limit or revoke Photo Library access and iCloud access in iOS Settings, manage subscriptions in your Apple Account settings, and delete the App and its local data. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal information, and to lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority.

10. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.

11. International processing

Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for international transfers.

12. Changes

We may update this policy as the App or legal requirements change. The current version will be posted here with a revised effective date.

13. Questions

For privacy questions or requests, email yako@yako.dev, or use the developer contact method shown on Accordion Compressor’s App Store product page. Please do not include private videos or sensitive information in a support request.
